I know we’ve all heard breakfast is the most important meal of they day – do you know why?
While we sleep, our body uses protein to repair itself. So, come the morning, we are depleted in protein and need to replenish. Protein is used for energy, so when we don’t have breakfast with enough protein, we’ll very often have low energy throughout the day and be hungry shortly after we’ve eaten. Having protein in the morning also helps keep our blood sugar in the first zone!
- 1 cup frozen berries (use your favourites)
- 1–1.5 cups filtered water
- 2 scoops quality protein powder (I use NeoLife Vanilla for a whopping 18g protein & 5g fiber all made from non-GMO & organic whole foods)
- 1/2 mandarin or clementine orange
Blend using a blender and voila – the perfect breakfast shake.
